WARREN (AP) - A man who authorities say pulled his puppy by a leash from a van in a Detroit-area flea market parking lot has been sentenced to three months in jail.
The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens reports 43-year-old Keith Parker told a judge Thursday in Warren that his actions weren’t intentional. The Warren man had pleaded guilty to drunken driving and animal cruelty.
Parker was arrested Nov. 27 in the lot, just north of Detroit. Police say he was at the flea market to sell some items he owned.
The dog, “Cricket,” had a bloody paw after being dragged. Fur was scraped away from above the dog’s left eye. Warren police Officer Michael Lake adopted the dog, and he and his wife renamed her “Annabelle.”
